CAS Fair

In December 2024, our team at Neelu.org had the incredible opportunity to participate in the CAS Fair at Ecolint, an event that brought together students and organizations from across the school to share and support various causes. The fair was a huge step for us as we began to engage more actively with the local community, and it marked one of our first big event, although it wasn’t a fundraiser.

Our team worked hard to bring the event to life. We focused on making it fun, informative, and interactive for everyone who stopped by our booth. As a small but passionate team, we had to be creative and resourceful in organizing the event. We designed engaging activities that would not only attract attention but also help raise awareness about Neelu’s mission, providing clean water to communities in India.

One of the main things we wanted to achieve at the fair was to get students involved in the cause. We knew that engaging young people is crucial for driving change, and that their energy, creativity, and fresh perspectives would make a real difference. We wanted them to feel empowered and understand that they, too, could play an active role in tackling global issues.

Throughout the event, we spent a lot of time talking to students, not just about the issue at hand, but about the larger impact of their involvement. We explained what Neelu stands for, providing clean water to communities in India, and how every small action could contribute to creating lasting change. Our conversations were centered on connecting with the students personally and making sure they understood the importance of our mission. We invited them to join our efforts, whether by volunteering, fundraising, or simply spreading the word about the cause.

It was incredible to witness the moment when students realized that, despite being young, they could indeed make a real difference. The spark in their eyes was unmistakable as they saw the direct link between their efforts and tangible outcomes.

We set up a variety of activities to engage students in a fun and meaningful way. Our goal was to combine education with enjoyment, so we designed interactive challenges and games to highlight the importance of clean water. One of the most popular activities was the water bottle challenge, where students had to flip a water bottle into an area representing the percentage of students in Telangana, India, with access to clean water. If they succeeded, they won a cup of water. This simple activity sparked conversations about water scarcity and gave students a chance to reflect on the issue.

We also had a spinning wheel with a cup of water as a prize, symbolizing the clean water access statistic in India. The excitement around the wheel helped draw more people in and gave students an interactive way to understand the impact of water scarcity.

In addition to the games, we also created an interactive quiz on Genially that students could try out at the fair. The quiz featured questions based on the water crisis in India, focusing on issues such as access to clean water, water scarcity, and the impact on communities in Telangana. It was a fun and educational way for students to test their knowledge and learn more about the challenges many people face in accessing clean water.

Throughout the day, we recruited many enthusiastic students eager to fundraise for Neelu in the future. It was amazing to see how the Ecolint community responded, and we left feeling incredibly motivated. We not only gained new supporters but also built meaningful connections with people who were genuinely interested in making a difference.

In the end, the CAS Fair was more than just an event—it was an opportunity to raise awareness, recruit volunteers, and share Neelu’s mission. Thanks to the support of the Ecolint community, we were able to move closer to our goal of ensuring clean water for every student in the schools of Telangana.
